The Hotel

The Hotel takes its name from the “Calissano” winery founded in 1872 by Luigi Calissano. Considered the first great Alba entrepreneur, who he led the way in spreading the reputation of the outstanding wines grown in this area throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

The very foundations of the hotel descend into what were once the winery’s historic cellars, which today have been partly restored and returned to the splendour of days gone by.

This blend of tradition and modernity was what we set out to achieve from the very start, combining history and cutting edge technology, and comfort and the warm hospitality our area is known for in following in the footsteps of the great tradition of hotels in Alba.
